Location: Henry J. Leir Stage
The outdoor Henry J. Leir Stage hosts Sekou McMiller & Friends for a special one-day-only performance on July 25. Sekou McMiller is a New York City/Chicago-based choreographer, teacher, curator, and producer at the forefront of a new movement in Afro Latin dance. McMiller’s unique fusion style has a strong Afro-Caribbean essence that is laced with many different dance techniques combined with an explosive energy. His new work is inspired by the golden age of mambo at the Palladium nightclub in New York City during the 1940s, ‘50s and ’60s. To bring the work to life, McMiller has curated a collective of skilled dancers, musicians, composers, and performers. The result is a masterful show that fuses music and dance while uniting interconnected cultures.
INCLEMENT WEATHER: Jacob’s Pillow occasionally must issue a day-of cancellation of an outdoor performance due to inclement weather, such as current or impending rain, high heat, or air quality concerns. In the event of inclement weather on the date of your outdoor performance by Sekou McMiller & Friends, all ticket holders will be notified and those who have purchased a “Rain or Shine” ticket will be accommodated indoors in an alternate venue with limited capacity at Jacob’s Pillow, at the scheduled showtime. All other ticket holders who purchased a “Shine Only” ticket will have their funds moved on-account at that time.
