Location: Henry J. Leir Stage
One of the most famous and celebrated companies in the world, The Royal Ballet will appear at Jacob’s Pillow for the first time, as the company’s sole stop in the U.S. in 2024. The festival will feature daily back-to-back performances from The Royal Ballet, with a program on the outdoor Henry J. Leir Stage followed by a separate program in the Ted Shawn Theatre. This summer’s program will feature a World Premiere by Wayne McGregor, created for Jacob’s Pillow, alongside works by associated choreographers, and will include the U.S. Premiere of Secret Things by American choreographer Pam Tanowitz. Principals Matthew Ball, Mayara Magri, Marcelino Sambé, Anna Rose O’Sullivan, and Sarah Lamb will perform, along with a vibrant array of the company’s dancers. Opening night on July 3 will include Principal dancer Natalia Osipova in Ashton’s evocation of Isadora Duncan.
NOTE: The School at Jacob’s Pillow Contemporary Performance Ensemble will open the outdoor evening program on Saturday, July 6 with a performance beginning at 5:15pm. Ticket holders are invited to arrive early to enjoy this additional performance as part of their ticket purchase.
INCLEMENT WEATHER: Jacob’s Pillow occasionally must issue a day-of cancellation of an outdoor performance due to inclement weather, such as current or impending rain, high heat, or air quality concerns. In the event of inclement weather on the date of your outdoor performance by The Royal Ballet, all ticket holders will be accommodated indoors in an alternate venue at Jacob’s Pillow, at the scheduled showtime.
